Abstract

Minimization of output capacitance in LED drivers essentially increases the life span of the system and it is presented in this paper. The proposed topology consists of two nonisolated DC-DC converters with front end Single-end primary inductor converter (SEPIC) cascaded with the Buck-Boost converter. Both of these converters share the single switch ensuring the Power factor correction with discontinuous mode (DCM) operated SEPIC when supplied from AC source. Secondary end Buck Boost converter assists in achieving the output current control justify the single stage integrated topology. A simulation study of the projected converter topology is carried out in PSIM. The simulation results are verified practically by developing a prototype of the integrated topology of 70 W and the results are validated.
