Abstract

Every day a large number of people go to colleges and offices. Keeping track of movements of
students and employees are important for security reasons and to ensure smooth flow work in colleges
and offices. In order to keep track, students and employees have to manually mark their presence in
form of attendance or log entry for special places like confidential documents room. This traditional
method requires time, man power and has a lot of room for error. This paper is aimed to solve this
problem by implementation of a Bluetooth low energy (BLE) based automated logging system. It
consists of a BLE embedded ID Card (BLE ID Card) and BLE Scanner module (BLE Scanner). With
wireless interaction of these two modules, automated logging is achieved. For storing log data on
main server, data can be uploaded using any preferred protocol. This provides a way to instantly
mark the attendance of all the students.
