Artificial Intelligent Systems in Smart Medical Healthcare: Current Trends

Abstract

This is an era of disruption. In the recent few years, we have seen that Artificial Intelligence (AI)
has flourished at a geometrical progression and has touched all the spheres of human life.
Healthcare sector has been equally benefitted with Artificial Intelligence. In past few years,
healthcare sector has been experiencing a revolution with the AI driven medical diagnostics,
procedures and treatments. The AI driven systems are replacing or at least making humans more
dependent on them due to inherent advantage of availability, dependability and accuracy levels
attained similar to humans. The paper highlights the various recent trends in the healthcare
sector using the artificial intelligence. We have explored the various types of AI algorithms that
are currently employed in healthcare sector and discussed their role in treatments. The paper
also explores the inherent limitations of the AI based healthcare systems when compared to
human intervention. There is a huge scope of AI in near future but the possibility of replacing
human intervention is not a near sighted reality.
