Abstract

Dumb persons need an easy way to communicate. This project helps them to communicate easily with others by using hand gestures. A dumb person finds it hard to convey his message and should rely on someone to full fill his basic needs. Hand conveyor bot makes the dumb persons life a lot easier by providing a way to communicate. The person is instructed with some fixed gestures, which are used to specify the message and each gesture has different meaning. Four flex sensors are used in this project to display four different types of messages as outputs. Messages to be displayed can be changed depending upon the habits of the individual and depending upon the routine of the individual. A glove that is attached to flex sensors is worn by the person, when the person moves his fingers, this movement is captured by the flex sensors and according flex value will be generated, which means Analog signal is converted to digital signal. Microcontroller Arduino Leonardo will read the flex value from the respective flex sensor and process it. And after the processing a set of instructions is sent to display the message on the LCD. As the message displayed on LCD, surrounding persons come to know the need of the dumb person and take the necessary steps accordingly.
