Abstract

The traditional method to build dairy goat housing for intensive system using wood
material is almost not feasible anymore, at least in Malaysia. Reasons such as depleting
the natural resources, odor pollution, higher maintenance costs and low life span are the
weaknesses for this material. This study proposed the composites material such as
aluminium for frame and hot deep galvanized iron for floor and wall to replace the using
of wood. The survey was conducted to twenty of the local dairy goat breeders on the
suitable design of dairy goat housing (i.e. material, layout design, feeding and drinking
system, manure handling and milking parlor)
