The Acceptance of MOOC in Polytechnic Malaysia: A Perspective of Polytechnic’s Lecturers
Abstract
This paper is to investigate the acceptance of Massive Open Online Course (MOOC)
among lecturers in Polytechnic Malaysia using Unified Theory of Acceptance and Use of
Technology (UTAUT) model. This quantitative study used data collected through survey
adapted from multiple original articles related to the study on selected lecturer group
using stratified sampling method. This research used UTAUT modeling to evaluate
lecturer’s intention and continuous use of MOOC as online Teaching and Learning
(T&L) technology. The finding of this study reflects that at Malaysia’s Polytechnic,
lecturers play critical role to initiate and fully used of MOOC in T&L. From the findings,
lecturer’s performance and efforts become most prominent construct influence their
continuous use of MOOC
