Novel Structured Ultra Wideband Antenna With Triple Band Notching Characteristics

Abstract

           The proposed work presents a design of a triple band notched ultra-wide band (UWB) antenna with establishing a large bandwidth of 3.1-10.6GHz. The said antenna has been fabricated with a size of 32mmx26mmx0.8mm, with three notches on the radiator patch. The first notch is at 3-3.3GHz for Wi-Max system, second notch is at 3.8-4GHz forfixed satellite and mobile communications, and the third notch is at 4.8-5GHz for space research. The ground plane of antenna is made of PEC material and for the substrate, FR-4 is used, which has a loss tangent of 0.025.By introducing U-shaped slots in the radiator, the bandwidth of the said antenna increases accordingly and the notches are created.
