Abstract

In recent years, the energy consumption levels have peaked at alarming rates due to the large scale of digital context, number of subscribers, and the number of devices.  The increase in connected devices is likely to go up and reach 100 billion by 2030. Therefore, there is a need to reduce the resources for implementing all network elements and the energy consumed for their operation. This paper aims to identify the antecedents of green IoT Implementation in the IT Firms. It further tries to understand the impact of Green IoT (G-IoT) Implementation on employee well-being.  A conceptual framework has been developed to understand the antecedents of Green IoT Implementation. This has been tested using Structural Equation Modeling.   A survey of 500 IT employees were carried out to collect the response using quota sampling. All hypotheses are significant and awareness campaigns were found to contribute significantly to Green IoT Implementation.  The findings of the study would help IT Firms to implement Green IoT in the organization which would further lead to efficiency in operations, thereby reducing energy, pollution, and hazardous emissions. It will also help organizations to improve employees’ well-being.
