Abstract

Mobile Cloud Computing is used to overcome the processing and storage limitation of mobile devices by offloading computational intensive task to remote resources. Offloading the resource intensive tasks improves the performance of the mobile device. In this paper, context aware computation offloading is performed by considering the network availability, size of the task to be executed, the time required to execute the task and CPU energy needed for executing the task. The results indicate offloading the computational intensive task to resource rich servers reduces the energy consumption and execution time of the mobile device.
