Gaplek Based Tapioca Production System using Fuzzy Analytical Hierarchy Process (Fuzzy AHP) Approach

Abstract

The improvement of tapioca production system is one of the solutions to improve the economy of rural communities through the development of cassava inventory as an inexpensive tapioca raw material that can be obtained throughout the year, using appropriate management and strategies. This study aims to determine the order of priority criteria that are influential in determining the steps to improve production system performance. The method used is Fuzzy Analytical Hierarchy Process (Fuzzy AHP) using four criteria of management principles, namely planning, organizing, directing, and controlling. Management criteria are weighted to be more comprehensive, able to describe and assist decision makers in improving the performance of production systems. The results showed that the priority sequence for the long-term planning criteria in the goal planning sub-criteria (0.09) and short-term (0.07), long-term in the process planning sub-criteria (0.07) and short-term (0.07). The priority order for organizing criteria is the division of labor in work placement sub-criteria (0.08) and job grouping (0.07), coordination in the organizational structure sub-criteria (0.06) and determining relationships within the organization (0.04). The priority sequence for directing criteria is by conducting training on the HR management sub-criteria (0.06) and training frequency (0.05), giving orders on the assignment sub-criteria (0.06) and delegation of authority (0.02). The priority order for controlling criteria with activators in the corrective action sub-criterion (0.08) and comparator (0.06), process monitoring in the goal evaluation sub-criteria (0.05) and performance monitoring (0.03). The results of the discussion, the performance of the production system can be improved by prioritizing the three management criteria with the highest weight, namely planning long-term goals on planning criteria, division of labor on organizing criteria, and activators on controlling criteria.
