Effectiveness of Problem Based Learning Model Assisted by Pocket Book toward Student Self-Efficacy
Abstract
This research aims to analyze Problem Based Learning model (PBL) assisted by pocket book
media toward student self-efficacy. This research is a quasi - experimental research. The
research methodology of the research type is quantitative method. The population consisted of
all fourth graders of Public Primary School 02 Karangayau, in academic year 2018/2019. There
were 60 participants grouped into two classes, IV A and IV B classes. The sample was done by
non probability sampling through saturated sampling. The research data were obtained from
pretest - posttest. The applied data analysis consisted of normality, independent t-test, sample ttest, and gain test. The findings showed that self-efficacy of experimental group classically
reached 91% with average 91.10. Meanwhile the control group classically reached 89% with
average score 89.36. The t-test result showed that Problem Based Learning (PBL) assisted by
pocket book media was effective toward self-efficacy of the primary school students. It could be
concluded that Problem Based Learning model assisted by pocket book media was effective for
the students’ self-efficacies. It is suggested to further develop in the next researches
