The Correlation between Students’ Commitment and Performance at Sekolah Tinggi Ilmu Ekonomi Galileo Batam Indonesia

Abstract

Various problems are generally faced by universities such as; service, commitment,
performance, and leadership issues. These are what encourage this research to be done. The
focus of this research was the variable of commitment and performance of students at Sekolah
Tinggi Ilmu Ekonomi (STIE) Galileo Batam, as the location of this research. The number of
respondents in this study was 33 students of STIE Galileo Batam. The purpose of this research
was to discover the correlation between commitment and performance. Data collection
instruments were 25question items and questionnaires. The data analysis instrument was SPSS
statistics. The Data were analyzed through validity analysis test, reliability test, normality test,
and correlation test to see the correlation between commitment and performance. Correlation
test results indicate strong and significant correlation between commitment and performance.
For further researchers, it is suggested to conduct the research about the commitment and
performance of lecturers at college of STIE Galileo Batam
