The Role of Social Media Used at Work and Employees’ Work Performance at Five Radio Stations in Jakarta

Abstract

This research tried to determine the performance of social media used at work to employees’
work performance. Data collected promptly by administering surveys to 111 employees of 5-
radio stations in Jakarta. Procedure sampling in this investigation is a survey and census. The
techniques that used to analyze this investigation are instrumental test such as validity and
reliability, also hypothesis test using SEM (Structural Equation Model) analysis. Hypothesis
examination results illustrate that social media used at work has a positive effect on network ties,
network ties have a positive effect on knowledge transfer, and knowledge transfer has a positive
implement to work performance. This analysis illustrates that companies are expected to use
social media so that employees work better intensively. Supervision is carried out by conducting
closer work unit relationships between employees to establish significant network connections. In
the other hand to increase work performance, management is advised to persuade employees to
do stronger than they supposed.
