Total Quality Management on Supply Chain Management: A Study on Selected Logistics Companies in Parañaque, Metro Manila, Philippines

Abstract

The purpose of this research study is to examine the relationship between different practices of total quality management (TQM) and supply chain management (SCM) among logistic companies in Paranaque, Metro Manila, Philippines. Six TQM practices, namely leadership, strategic planning, customer focus, human resource management, process management and information analysis were adopted from Malcolm Baldrige National Quality Award (MBNQA).The study were conducted among 250 respondent that includes manager, head of each department, the staff and employees. The findings of this study revealed that all practices among TQM were rated effective likewise the result among SCM. To determine correlations between SCM and the TQM practices, a Pearson- r Correlation Coefficient was employed. Results revealed that SCM were no correlations with leadership, process management, and information analysis meanwhile customer focus, human resource management and strategic planning are significant factors of the logistics in the Supply Chain Management.
