Abstract

This study will address the use of thin film (TiO2, Arabic Gum) corrosion coating for low carbon steel pipelines which used in transport of the oil, gas and other petroleum products. In this study, chemical method and deposited with the technique of  Drop casting on  a glass and low carbon steel type (St.37) which acts as working electrode in this technique. Corrosion protection tests for uncoated and coated C.S. Tafel polarization to study the corrosion behavior of the steel coating. Low carbon steel samples (St.37) suffered in the aqueous solution linked to the Gasoil product obtained from the Iraqi Ministry of Oil. The results supported by AFM, SEM, XRD, FTIR, UV surface morphology examination. . The protective thin film coated used in this study was scored and efficiencies were achieved at 93%.
