Abstract

Social media has become an integral part of everyone's daily life. Online social media networks connect people on the earth due to which there is a large amount of user’s data collected and this data keeps on increasing exponentially. This data consists of Service providers publishing data to the third parties. As this big data contains sensitive and personal information of users, it needs to be protected before data publishing. Big data is a point of attraction for third parties for ethical and unethical purposes. Government, finance companies, researchers are the third parties which use data for analytical purposes to help mankind. But unethical use of this personal data can lead to unethical persona profiling stilling and misusing of data. So, protecting data is very important while publishing it. Data anonymization is a technique which could protect sensitive data, but still it is prone to different types of privacy attacks. Hence, there is a need for a privacy preservation scheme which is sustainable to different types of attack and balances privacy and utility of data.
