Abstract

With the increasing population, the need to connect, communicate and commute is also becoming necessary. As transportation plays a major role in globalization, the number of accidents is also increasing and among the various cases of accidents, the most affected are the Two-Wheeler riders. Thus, in this paper, a system called DetFormer is proposed, which makes use of the Internet of Things (IoT) for detecting and Informing an accident scene to the near and dear ones of the victim along with the hospitals and medical service providers. The system makes use of components like GPS Module, GSM module, Keypad, Triple-Axis Accelerometer sensor, Buzzer, and LCD Display, all combined to detect the accident and report it, thus, saving the precious human life. The proposed system i.e. DetFormer, can detect and confirm the accident by taking the speed with the help of GPS module first, followed by the input about tilt of vehicle from the accelerometer sensor, and after detecting the accident, share the information to the family members and hospitals using the GSM Module. Also, the buzzer is used to inform the people surrounding the accident scenario, so that they can provide the primary healthcare services to the victim. Thus, the system is fast, effective and efficient in detecting and informing an accident and save human lives.
