Abstract

Multilevel inverter plays a key role in the medium and high-power inverter power conversion process that is used in renewable resources. A novel multilevel inverter topology is proposed in this article, using developed H-bridge with Artificial Bee Colony Algorithm to find out the degree of dc source voltage. The proposed configuration needs less number of power switches, dc voltage sources and requires minimal blocking voltage on switches, resulting in lower complexity and total inverter cost. The functional accuracy and efficiency of the new algorithm based proposed topology in producing all the voltage levels for a 31-level inverter are validated by simulation and experimental results.
