Abstract

Most of the Indian people relay on the agriculture and it is the source for the income. For Productivity the plants must be irrigated. In Rainy season plants are over-irrigated and in monsoon season plants are under-irrigated. To move out of this problem plants must be irrigated smartly and one more problem that farmers are facing is to monitor the fields. So the objective of this project is to design an IOT based smart irrigation system. As Internet of things is one of the fastest growing technologies it will help the farmers to address the problem. For this prototype soil moisture sensor, temperature sensor, rain sensor and Water level sensors are used. If the readings are beyond the limit an SMS alert will be sent. All this sensors data will be monitored by the farmers using an android app through internet from any remote location. Another feature of this project is to control the motor through android app.
