Industrial Automation with Raspberry Pi and IoT

Abstract

Industrial automation is very much popular now a days as it improves productivity, safety and reliability. In industrial automation control, a wide number of process variables such as temperature, flow, pressure, distance, and liquid levels can be sensed simultaneously. By implementing Raspberry Pi and Embedded web server technology and utilizing local networking standards, industrial parameters can be controlled, maintained and monitored remotely. It reduces engineering costs in terms of manual configurations of all involved devices. In this project, a system is developed which will monitor automatically the industrial applications , the temperature, humidity, gas leakages  and the camera is used for detecting and alerting from unwanted operations or unauthorized persons involving in surrounded area of industry. In the proposed system, raspberry pi is used as controller and server, python language is used for run the prototype. The Raspberry pi communicates with the Embedded Web Server.  When the data is connected to the web server, it will store and provide the data at required time. PuTTY and VNC Viewer software are used for monitoring and controlling the industrial parameters.
