Abstract

Heat treatment is the process that is used most extensively in modern technology to change the properties of metals and alloys.  It is carried out to induce different physical and mechanical properties in metals.  Age hardening is the most important process of heat treating non ferrous alloys. It  indicate  to the maximization strength occurred from the being of small finely break up second phase particles, generally called precipitates within the original phase matrix.  The response of precipitation resulted from the quenching on the hardness was inspected the change of time and temperature have enhanced mechanical properties of the Al 2585 alloy.

Keywords: Aluminum alloy, age hardening, ageing time, hardness, micro structure.
