Performance Analysis of Intrusion Detection System using Feature Selection and Feature Reduction Method

Abstract

With the emergence of technology developed day by day, it is also bringing a variety of challenges into society. In the modern world one of the big issues is the prevention of intrusions. When an attack is conducted over a device or network, it violates privacy and protection over the same. Therefore, in these days the detection of intrusions in an efficient manner is gaining a lot of importance. Application of machine learning to construct an intrusion detection device is a wide field where every now and then ongoing work is carried out. This paper provides us an overview of how an efficient Intrusion Detection System can be built using the Machine Learning Methods and also for getting accurate prediction results in predicting if an unseen data is an attack over the system or network
