Analysis of Enterprise Architecture using the TOGAF Framework in Educational Services

Abstract

Information technology (IT) now has become a very important requirement for almost all organizations, because it is believed to help improve the effectiveness and efficiency of an organization's business processes, including universities. To achieve this, we need a good and correct IT management so that the existence of IT can support the success of the organization in achieving its goals. The biggest challenge faced by universities in Indonesia is how to determine the direction and target of development in accordance with the vision and mission, both state and private universities. To answer this challenge the organization must carry out an enterprise architecture strategic planning by providing a framework. TOGAF ADM is a complex framework that can meet all the needs of EA development, also has a common method, accepting integration with other frameworks, so as to produce an architecture that is specific to the needs of the organization. EA modeling in the academic process at XYZ University produces a blueprint of business architecture, data, applications, and technology. This research resulted in a blueprint of business architecture, application architecture, data architecture, technology architecture, and gap analysis, as well as an overview of the application of applications at XYZ University.
