Abstract

Supply chain industries are working with limited overall efficiency and productivity. Supply chain industries can become more efficient, productive and smarter by adopting the enabling technologies of Industry 4.0. The purpose of this research paper is to develop an IoT based conceptual framework for supply chain industry. Main aims of the suggested IoT based framework are to increase performance of the members of the supply chain through enhanced data sharing and well-organized resource utilization. In this research paper, keyword based literature review is carried out. Based on the literature review, IoT based conceptual framework is developed for SCM. Questionnaire was sent to 24 industries to determine the helpfulness of proposed IoT based SCM framework. This paper proposes a framework which focuses on development of smart supply chain management system. Proposed IoT based framework have data collection device, network and integrated information management system. Network device and integrated management system are used for transfer of collected data and examining the collected data by end user.

Keywords: Supply chain management (SCM), Internet of Things (IoT), Industry 4.0.
