Ethnic Tolerance In The Public Mind Of People Of Uzbekistan

Abstract

The article examined the most important characteristic of interethnic relations - tolerance. The main attention was paid to the modern interpretation of the concept of ethnic tolerance, the theoretical aspects of the concept of “tolerance” are analyzed. The article provides a review of scientific approaches to the problems of social tolerance from the point of view of the ambiguity of this concept, which contributes to the emergence of numerous research areas, discusses the key problems of the formation and further strengthening of ethnic tolerance in the public consciousness of the population of the Republic of Uzbekistan. The analysis was carried out on the basis of theoretical sources, as well as on the materials of the sociological study “Uzbekistan is our common home” of the Izhtimoi Fikr Center for the Study of Public Opinion, analyzed the problem of tolerance in interethnic relations, revealed their state and development trends. The role of tolerance as a multidimensional phenomenon of the social life of society associated with the political and cultural spheres of social interaction is shown.
