Abstract

The main motivation is to manage the consumption of power at residential home and control the yielding of high power. Without human intrusion, the illegal usage of power must be solved by electronic means. The proposed working methodology is to provide a system for electricity power management and theft detection. An embedded technology using microcontroller and a technique which uses wireless communication are used to detect theft of power. A  Global System for Mobile communication (GSM) based technology is used to record the meter reading and when power theft is detected then an automated alert message is sent to the authorized power provider through wireless communication. Fidelity authorized user gets an alert mail then meter reading is recorded automatically using GSM technology, and finally Power cut will be done when it crosses the threshold limit. The authorized user can check the power usage in the webpage through IP address. Now the attacks like power theft can be identified and user can report to the power administrator. Hence forth the above study showed that authorized user can manage the power by checking the webpage the value of power consumed will be displayed and detecting the theft English.
