Abstract

At endoscopic examination, we could observe that the first 7-10 days postoperative wounds covered the formed blood clots. Their removal occurred as a rule when patients themselves blow them out. After their spontaneous removal, as a rule, granulation surface covered by regenerating mucous membrane was found. The presence of blood clots or crusts does not make it possible to fix the exact moment of the first granulations appearance. In addition, at about the same time, lymphatic tissue edema develops. With significant postoperative edema in the nasal cavity, aeration of cavities is sharply disturbed. Prolonged contact between the middle nasal concha and the nasal septum arising as a result of edema can cause the formation of synechia. In most patients (67.4%), edema disappeared by the end of the fourth week, in 14.1% it disappeared before four weeks, and in 18.5%, the edema stopped after four weeks.
